Try Not to Cry Night ~ July 26th

The second theme night will feature tear-inducing episodes from various series.  We haven’t yet nailed down which series and which episodes will be featured (up to 10), but if you have ideas please add your comment.

We’ll pretty much have to include Kimi ni Todoke in this list, sorry Tucker.

Anime Essentials Night ~ June 28th

Currently we have the following titles listed for this theme night.  Azumanga Daioh, Gundam, Cowboy Bebop, Ghost In the Shell, Fullmetal Alchemist, FLCL, Elfen Lied, Tenchi Muyo, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Sailor Moon.

If you have suggestions for other titles not listed, add your comment below and state which of the above you think your idea should replace.  Also, if you have feedback on which episode should be watched, include that as well.

Fall 2011 anime events/ ideas

I figure it wouldn’t hurt to post up some more event ideas, or at least fire up our thinking engine’s for the fall semester…  that being said there isn’t really any holidays i want to celebrate in this semester since I’m not black, (MLK JR day)  or have a girlfriend (Valentines day) we’ll have to make up our own events, I’m thinking more off campus type hangouts, the swap meet was cool, etc maybe  more themed nights, (I’m always down for another mecha night)… post ideas below

Spring Semester Theme Night Suggestions

Just a thread to get some suggestions for the Spring 2011 “Theme Nights.” Please place a suggestion here for a type of theme you think would make a good theme night. (Please note that we only had 2 theme nights last semester 4 if you count Halloween and Christmas, and more than likely will not have more than that. But that decision is Joey’s (along with which themes are chosen) and the progression of our regular schedule may also affect the number of theme nights) But feel free to put as many suggestions in this thread as you want. So even if it doesn’t get used it may be an idea we never thought of before and could be used in the future.

Top 3 Favorite and Least Favorite Anime!

The Anime News Network podcast, ANNCast, has spent the last two episodes going through their best and worst anime (as well as their best and worst movies) of all time, with readers/listeners submitting their own lists to Zac which he read during the podcast as well.

Part One (1 hr 50 mins)
Part Two (1 hr 30 mins)

So post your favorite 3 and worst 3 anime in the thread and we can discuss that if you like. I realize some of you do not like Zac because of opinions he’s offered in the past, but this is not a thread to bash him nor Justin’s seemingly snobbish taste in movies.

Listening to their worst anime and worst movie lists was hilarious ^_-

Spring 2011 + Updates

I suppose that it’s getting near to the time when we should be thinking about what we might want to watch in the spring. I’ve made a new page featuring the shows that I suggested, so feel free to make your own suggestions in this thread and I’ll post them up. Try to limit your suggestions to two or three shows. If there was a show that was on the list last semester and we didn’t watch it, feel free to suggest it again.

Also, I went through and updated the front page as well as the list of titles we’ve watched to reflect what we’ve seen during the current semester. Let me know if I’ve left anything off.
