You meant spring, right? ;P

In general, the idea of meeting off campus is appealing if just for a change of pace now and again. But that all depends on what we are doing at these off campus meetings really.

Theme nights should probably be looked into again and they should probably be up for vote. Maybe take last semesters winners out of the running in order to get some different nights.

As for other ideas, I don't really have anything to add.

oh and on Christmas we do a white elephant exchange gift party, nothing above 15 dollars, its generally always a gag gift, some how ithink we could put a anime spin on it ,
rules are normally you have everyone wrap a gift and put them all in a pile, you count the people and make nombres and put em in a hat number is drawn to decide the order of person picking gifts, gift can be stolen up to twice, then it is frozen, but that is done in order as well so there's no chaos of people fighting over stuff
so say if your number three you have a choice of stealing one or twos or getting a new gift.

I've always enjoyed it and its something easily done. and it can be a hilarious sight to be seen, and its a ton of fun

The only thing that I would maybe be against in that list is a ramen eating contest. Eating ramen or traditional foods is one thing, but a contest is a different matter entirely. Still, let's hear what other people have to say on that.

Halloween has always been a big cosplay night for us, but we've never had a contest based on it. I think if we did a cosplay contest and a pumpkin carving contest for Halloween this year, that would be good. I'll go ahead and announce that in the next email in case people want to start preparing for it. Coming up with prizes for them shouldn't be too difficult.

A video game tournament is a little bit tricky. In the past we've had video game nights, but that was when we had fewer members (less than 10, usually). When we have 20+ people attending meetings, I don't think it's a reasonable idea because we'd have a lot of people just sitting around watching who may not even be interested. That said, if we wanted to have a separate event outside of our usual meeting, then that could work.

As far as drawing & costume making go, we might be able to have an arts and crafts night some time. Different people could lead sessions on various activities -- costuming, model assembling, drawing, and so on.

If more than one person wanted to participate in the AMV contest, we could include that as part of our end of the semester party. I am a bit interested in making one myself, but it's not something I've ever done before so there would be a learning curve.

Pumpkin carving contest (halloween is soon)

Member-created AMV contest

Learning how to make cosplay costumes

Rammen eating contest

Japanese culture night (learn and dispel myths of the culture)
maybe once a month or go to Osaka's or a traditional Japanese restaurant and try the hardcore Japanese dishes

Anime video game tournament (fighting games) and (Gundam dynasty warriors) and the new bleach game would be fun to play in groups or hell halo or cod or battle field soulcalibur (which i prolly wont be ale to play)

And dare i say karaoke night that stuff is ridiculous popular in Japan

And definitely cos-play events

Anime drawing contest or instruction something with drawing(i likes the arts)

And maybe the the whole president stuff we can vote like we vote on anime it would be fun once a year to have a friendly election with campaign flyers a voting ballot and a campaign video.
